Welcome to Bratislava !

Despite often being a bit 'snubbed and mistreated, Bratislava is a city extremely interesting and lively, full of valuable artistic, historical and cultural.
The capital of Slovakia is situated on the border with Austria and Hungary, on a hill in the Carpathians, along the Danube

Bratislava is the economic, political, scientific and cultural center of Slovakia and, following the country's remarkable economic growth and its entry into the euro, it is a city in constant transformation. It is the seat of Parliament and the President of Slovakia, and the executive. It hosts many universities, cultural centers, museums, theaters, art galleries and other important cultural institutions. The main economic and financial activities of the country have their headquarters in the capital.

The city's history has been strongly influenced by peoples of different nationalities such as Slovaks, Austrians, Germans, Czechs, Hungarians and Jews. The city was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary under the Habsburg monarchy from 1536 to 1783, when Budapest was under the Ottoman occupation, and it was home to many historical figures Slovak, German and Hungarian.
